increases milk production and can substitute for
relatively expensive purchased dairy meal, thus
increasing farmers’ income. Fodder shrubs also
conserve the soil, supply fuelwood and provide
bee forage for honey production. Rather than
cash outlays, farmers only need small amounts
of land and labour to plant them. Some farmers
also earn money by selling seeds.
