The use of winches on boats to remove the lanterns and a machine to classify the oysters by size would also be alternatives to diminished manual work operations and heavy forces. The farm evaluated is starting to invest in mechanization with the machine to clean the oysters. Before this, the activity was performed with the high pressure washer and cutting off the fouling organisms only with a knife, which is still used in some farms.
