ethanolic extract of A. bisporus gave a higher hydroxyl radical scavenging
activity than ethanolic extract of P. ostreatus (8 mg/mL)
from India (Jayakumar et al., 2009). However, no hydroxyl radical
scavenging activity was observed for ethanolic extract of Clitocybe
maxima, Pleurotus ferulae and P. ostreatus from Taiwan (Tsai et al.,
2009). Thus, the mushroom A. bisporus can be considered as a good
scavenger of hydroxyl radical.
