Step 1
Research prices. Navigate to the website of a major airline -- such as Delta Air Lines, American, Continental, United or others -- and enter the departure and arrival cities and dates of travel into their "Book A Flight" search box. View the results to get an idea how much money your ticket is going to cost. If you don't have access to the Internet, call an airline that serves your area and inquire about the cost of your trip. This will give you some idea of how much cash you're going to need for your trip.
Step 2
Find a travel agent in your local area and set up an appointment to talk about your travel details. Give him your departure and arrival cities, your desired dates and other pertinent information about your trip so he can search for the best price. When he finds a rate that seems reasonable, bring cash to his office, book your flight and get your confirmation number and any tickets for your flight.
Step 3
Arrive at the the airport at least one to two hours before your flight and go to the airline's ticket counter. Provide the agent with your flight confirmation number, and give her your identification to verify you are who you say you are. Since you don't have a credit card, you won't be able to check in using an electronic kiosk at the airport, since those usually require a credit card to verify your identity.
