In the first case, consider for instance – what the couples do is a justified act for themselves. It isn’t that the child isn’t a priority – but for them the choice to sacrifice their image or career isn’t a simple one. And besides, so long as the surrogate mother isn’t offering to carry their child under any duress – the question of ethics is a little unnecessary, really. After all, everyone has their own personal sense of morality – their own distinctions of what is right and what is wrong. So long as both parties are agreeable, there aren’t any ‘ethics’ involved, as such.
