The defects on the belt top cover, that are caused by the hot transported material, are able to start-up a process of oxidative aging of the belt, which leads to a fission of macromolecules into the radicals with the consequential oxidative chain reaction. This reaction implicates next degradation process of the surface layer of the rubber-textile conveyor belt [32]. The
performed and described tomographic analysis of the individual samples demonstrates a relevant fact that the damage process affects harmfully only the top cover of the belt, even in the case of the sample No. 5, which was the most thermally loaded sample.
