Granting that none of the conventions earlier discussed were violated,
the account transfer should take place during the next and immediate
batch processing run. Internally, CardLinK will copy all the transaction
history and customer personal and demographic data contained in the
CARDHOLDER record of the old account into the new account.
There is no need for you actually create a new CARDHOLDER record
with the PCAH (Cardholder Add) function. CardLinK will assign a
CARDHOLDER STATUS code of ‘4’ to the old CARDHOLDER record,
which means that the old account is tagged as a ‘transferred’ account.
It will also replace the old account’s CREDIT LIMIT field with a value
of ‘0000000’ to mean that no credit limit is assigned to this account.
The field NEW ACCOUNT NBR in the new account will carry the
number of the old or replaced account. If the old account contains
collection tags for the On-line Collection system (OLC), the collection
tags will also be transferred to retain the new account in the OLC.
These tags are only meaningful if your institution also uses the On-line
Collections module of the CardLinK system.
