With regard to DHA, EPA, DGLA, and GLA, which were able to
be detected by the present GC–MS method, no sex-based differences
were recognized for the -3 unsaturated fatty acids EPA
and DHA, while the -6 unsaturated fatty acids GLA and DGLA
were significantly lower in women than in men (p = 0.0034 and
0.0012, respectively).
