Marriage Registration Procedure
These are the procedures for marriage registration in Thailand. Normally it can take 3 days to complete the process if you have all the documents as many of the departments are busy and waiting for up to 6 hours is normal. Most expats and visitors to Thailand normally hire a law firm to do all the papwerwork for them and completes the process faster and easier.

Take the affidavit and supporting documents to a local Amphur and register yourselves as married. The Amphur will also require the following documents so ensure that you have all the documents certified as required:
Your American passport;
The Thai citizen's identification card;
If your fiancee is under twenty, written permission from the parents;
House papers of your wife
* If either you or your Thai fiancee have been previously married the Amphur will want to see proof that prior marriages have been terminated; either divorce or death certificates. These documents if available should be translated into Thai prior to presentation at the Amphur.
