William Hill takes active measures to ensure that all clients are of legal age for gambling (18 years old). In a small number of cases the automated checks we carry out are not able to verify the age of new account holders and in some cases it will be necessary to request proof of age documents from you.
You are of course obliged to provide correct and up to date information when you register your account. However if you have moved home recently we may have to contact you to ask you to provide your old address details in order to complete our checks.
If we remain unable to verify your age then we will send an email to your registered email address requesting a copy of one of the following documents
Birth Certificate
Driving Licence
Passport
Signed Credit Agreement
Citizen Card
We want this process to be as simple as possible for our customers so we have several ways you can send the documents in to us, which we have listed below:
1. Email your document(s).
You can email your documents to us by scanning them in to your computer or by using your mobile device, here are step by step instructions on how to do it:
1. Take a photo of the document with your camera phone or tablet (make sure we can see all edges and corners)
2. Or scan your document and save it as a .JPEG image2.
3. Open your email account on your desktop, mobile or tablet
4. Attach the photo to a 'New' email
5. Enter: ageverification@willhill.com in the 'To' address bar at the top of your email
6. Press 'Send'
Important note: Please remember include your account number / username when you contact us to ensure your check is completed promptly.
2. Text your document(s)
You can also take a picture of your ID with your camera phone and send us the image via MMS. You should ensure that the subject in your message will have your account number or username for our reference and then text it to +447841953654.
3. Call the Age Verification team
The simplest and quickest way we can verify your age would be to contact our Verification team on 0800 731 7823 (UK) or International +44 (0)870 600 0479 who will be happy to complete the necessary checks with you over the telephone.
4. Contact our live chat team
Simply contact our live chat team and upload your documents by:
1. Clicking on the 'Live Chat' symbol on the top right hand side of this help section
2. Enter you details in the boxes provided
3. Advise the agent that you wish to upload documents.
Our agent will take you through the process of uploading your documents step by step.
5. Hand in your document(s)
Alternatively, you can go to any William Hill shop to present your identification. The shop Manager or Assistant can then contact our Customer Service department to confirm that you have verified your age.
Upon satisfactory verification, your account will be fully activated and any restrictions which have been applied will been lifted.
Please note that we will be unable to discuss an account with anybody other than the account holder, nor are we able to confirm whether or not any individual has an account with us.
