Growing our business: Asia business objectives 2014
Colleagues,
As I’ve assumed my new role, I have had the pleasure of visiting several of our facilities and talking with many of our Kerry colleagues working from our facilities in Asia. I’ve also spent a great deal of time meeting with the business and functional management teams, and talking with many of the customers we serve in Asia.
All of these interactions have enriched my understanding of the challenges and opportunities we have as we move forward together. I have also gained a great appreciation for the talented, passionate, and committed team we have in Asia. And, with the support from the global Kerry organization, we continue to invest in the expansion of our R&D, Applications, and manufacturing capabilities within the region. The investments we’ve made and continue to make, and the talents we have, create a solid foundation for future growth as we strive to reach our goal.
Our Goal and 2014 Focus Areas. I believe in a few short years, the Asia region can double in size, achieving 1.3 Billion euro in annual revenue. To reach this goal, we will need to adopt some new ways of working, develop new skills and competencies, prioritize and align our resources to the most strategic opportunities, and operate as one region, as 1 Kerry and 1 team. To help propel us forward toward our goal, the Asia leadership team and I have developed the following strategic objectives for 2014
1. Drive Profitable Growth. We need to leverage Kerry’s new Insight Selling model and global Technology
portfolio to produce innovative, consumer-preferred taste and nutrition systems.
- We need to advance our Nutrition business by building on our capabilities and expanding our customer
base;
- We must drive new growth with our global G-accounts and accelerate expansion of our large regional A
accounts;
- We need to leverage Kerry’s superior technology, rich heritage and deep expertise in Dairy and Dairy
replacement systems to advance our position in the region;
- We need to build scale in our Foodservice business and become the go-to partner for global and regional
QSR’s based on our best in class quality, flawless operational execution and innovative concepts based on
strong consumer insights;
- And, establish a strong branded presence across the food service channel in the region.
2. Operational Excellence: To achieve our ambitious growth target, we will need to ensure excellence in the
delivery and execution of our operations, quality and supply chain KPI’s.
3. Align Our Resources. We need to be more focused on the right projects for the right customers. We need to
align ourselves to deliver against the projects and opportunities that will deliver the greatest value for Kerry
and our customers.
4. People Development. We need to continue our commitment to developing our people to enable their career
and ensure future business readiness
5. Teamwork. We need to work as one regional team. We need to improve how we communicate, collaborate,
and work together across our businesses, our functions, and our region and with our Kerry colleagues across
the globe.
Our success in 2014 and in the years to come will be determined by the level of passion, commitment and sense of urgency we have, individually and collectively.
I am excited about the future and the opportunities ahead and I am confident we can deliver on our goals. Thank you for your teamwork and your dedication to Kerry and our customers.
Finally, to my colleagues across the region celebrating the Year of the Horse, “Gong Xi Fa Cai.”
