Logistics Services is part of Group Trucks Operations. We have 5300 employees on more than 60 locations world-wide. Our job is to design, handle and optimize the supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and for selected customers within the automotive industry. The scope for Logistics Services includes making sure that material is transported to the production facilities, that packaging is available, that vehicles are distributed to the dealers, and that management of material, warehouses and distribution ensures the availability of parts everywhere in the world. We make sure all logistics services are delivered with world class operational excellence.
Head of OD/VPS & Quality, Logistics Operations APAC
Logistics Operations APAC is part of Logistics Services, Group Truck Operations. We have approximately 630 employees in 21 locations within the APAC regions. Our job is to design, handle and optimize the supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and for selected customers within the regions. Job description
The Head of OD/VPS & Quality, Logistics operations APAC has the responsibility to promote a culture of operational excellence within APAC. Drive performance and deployment of the Operational Development / Volvo Production System To secure and coordinate Quality, Environment, Customer Satisfaction and Safety & Security governance within APAC.
Secure the implementation and support of Logistics Services’ global OD/VPS roll out. You will report to the VP of Logistics Operations APAC Group Trucks Operations.
Profile
• He/she will interact strongly with the APAC team.
• The head of OD/VPS & Quality should actively work and network with the Global Function: OD/VPS & Quality in Logistics Services and in some areas with GTO.
• He/she is part of the APAC management team.
• He/she will be part of the OD/VPS & Quality network within Logistics services.
Main activities and responsibilities
• Driving the OD/VPS roadmap for APAC in close cooperation with Logistics Services OD/VPS department
• Measure & follow business KPI for OD/VPS implementation progress and result
• Deliver the coaching, networking and training actions that support the agreed OD/VPS roadmap
• Challenge the management and Boost OD/VPS best practices within the operation to accelerate efficiency and to reach operational excellence throughout the organization
• Support the introduction of new OD/VPS tools
• Contribute to the “lean thinking” education of all the employees
• Contribute actively to the OD/VPS network
• Ensure that each part of OD/ VPS teams and networks have, and is motivated to achieve, clearly formulated and agreed plans which are aligned with Logistics Services’ total business plan and strategy
• Responsible for Quality assurance and governance/customer satisfaction governance
• Drive and coordinate Quality and Environment activities within APAC. Manage and coordinate the QE KPI’s
• QE projects portfolio and internal audits within the APAC organization
• Safeguard adherence to Environmental and Safety & Security policies, rules and regulations
• Driving and taking responsibility for the Customer Satisfaction Index, CSI with appropriate actions to gain expected result
• KPI’s for OD/VPS & Quality in connection with Business plan
Critical competencies for the position
• The Head of OD/VPS & Quality Logistics Operations APAC has strong understanding of business challenges in an international environment. Good understanding of the Volvo Group Business
• Managerial experience
• He/she is able to demonstrate a clear vision, global mind set and he/she is successful in people development and culture leadership.
• With a real talent for cultural integration, and business analyses the person holds Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent and is able to demonstrate successful international and multi-cultural business experience. You need to have documented experience in OD/VPS & Quality.
• The individual is highly skilled in coaching and facilitation as well as having a good understanding of interpersonal relations and organizational development.
• He/she is a strong communicant with good influencing skills, also able to create trustful relations in spite of cultural differences and geographical distance
• Demonstrating a high and solid level in each of the Volvo Group Leadership competencies for the leading leader’s level, this individual will be an inspiring and inclusive leader as well as an active team worker.
