In Syntermitinae the third proctodeal segment (P3) is
not very informative; in most species it is similar to all
other members of Termitidae. The P3b is more characteristic,
well projected from the gut coil, inflated and
with an inverted “C” shape, as described for all members
of Procornitermes; the exceptions are Silvestritermes,
Curvitermes, Cyrilliotermes, Cornitermes, and
Syntermes. In these species the P3b is more retracted to
the gut coil and rounded, not forming the inverted “C”;
