A ratio of CCR to GFA of 30:70 by weight was used as a binder. Water-to-binder (WIB) ratios of 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 were used in this experiment (designated 0.3CF, 0.4CF, and 0.5CF, respectively). The mixtures of CCR, GFA, and deionized water were mixed together followed by an additional five minutes of stirring. After mixing, the samples were cast in plastic molds of 30 mm in diameter and 60 mm in height. GFA pastes were removed from the molds after casting for 24 hr. at ambient temperature. The pastes were then sealed with plastic sheets to prevent water evaporation before testing.
