What has been interesting in editing this volume is that, in addition to the many exciting chapters received, the subject matter raised a striking amount of interest in other researchers. Many eminent scholars turn out to have held a (sometimes secret) fascination with this topic. Had this book been delayed a year, twice the number of chapters could have been included, spread across twice the number of domains. All four editors of this volume are eager to see more work in this area. The interest is there, and several different theoretical conceptions are in place to serve as starting points. What is needed is more research, more data, and more synthesis of this future research. Particularly exciting is the idea, first discussed in Cropley, Kaufman, and Cropley (2008), that creativity can be used to combat terrorism.
