Just a quick lesson learned for me regarding wbp files. Perhaps some of you are aware of this already. Before submitting my wbp file to the well planner, I created a new file and then deleted the MMU targets and Corridor targets, thinking that it would be cleaner this way. However, it seems that the “deleted” MMU and Corridor targets are still in the file, even though they don’t show up anywhere in Wellbore Planner (including Target Reports), GeoProbe, or SeisWorks. When the wbp file is opened in Notepad as a text file, the “deleted” targets are there. These “phantom targets” created problems for the well planner, who didn’t realize that these targets should be ignored (and I didn’t realize that they were still there in the first place).
