Spent the day driving around with the Spy Happy Lens and initially I wasn't too impressed. I have been sporting Oakleys for many years (flack jackets for cycling and the polarized models for sand and surf) so the Spy's were equal, but not better. After about an hour I noticed that I started to stay off the gas pedal a bit more and noticed that the distance between me and the car ahead of me was increasing. I took a quick assessment of my mood and I was calm and relaxed after driving in moderate city traffic which is rarely the case. I just smiled and thought "S.O.A.B.** these happy lenses actually work". After a few more minutes I decided to take the long way home to sustain the mood. When I got home I still felt pretty good.
Granted the Happy Lens effect is subjective at best and it also depends on your overall health, nutrition and possibly fitness. I'll have to spend some quality time in heavy California highway traffic and see if they keep me er, ah, well, Happy! (I'm gonna have to think of some excuse to wear them at work.
So far I'm kinda like'n what Spy has to offer. The Helm model fits my huge head and the style is unique. The frames just fit under my baseball cap (slammed on my melon) with the bill just barely touching the outer edges of the frames. The frame is solid and did not have any pressure related hot spots on the bridge or tops of the ears. The 'black mirror' is faint at best so you can still see your eyes when you check out your mug three feet from the mirror (something to remember when your chatting up bikini clad ladies). The bronze tint dose a nice job of creating more detail while Spy's Trident polarization cuts harsh glare and reflections really well.
