The Assessment:
This is a two part assessment:
Part 1: A project to product a series (range) of documents required for the recruitment process
Part 2: A role play between 2 students, acting the roles of employer (interviewer) and prospective employee (candidate) for a job interview based on the job description as completed In Part 1.
Please read not only the instructions carefully, but also the marking forms to give you an idea of what your teacher is looking for and what they use to mark your assessment.
How your work should be presented (layout or structure):
Your documentation must:
a. Be of a professional standard (spelling, grammar, punctuation)
b. Size 12, Arial or Calibri Font
c. 1.5 line Spacing
d. Add a Title page with your name, student number, subject, class no and trainer’s name and date. If you wish you can add a graphic or picture. (read How to write a report)
e. All pages must have a Footer with the following details:
• Date
• Page numbers
f. References – use in text references on the pages where they are used and also have a list of references at the end of your assessment to avoid plagiarism
g. Check the layout by using print preview to ensure that the report is centred and balanced
h. Upload the completed assessment after you have reviewed and proofread it naming the file as your Student Number (s) and Assessment No
Assessment Instructions:
Part 1: Research and development project
You have been asked by the management of your organisation to recruit a new staff member and have been asked to put together an interview portfolio to use for the process.
Develop/include the following documents:
1. Research and develop a document that you can use to gain authorisation of a request to recruit and to advertise for the new staff member (including the cost).
2. Using the following template attached (Cut and paste it into a Word document) develop a job description, agreed to by relevant parties, which complies with the requirements of the Fair Work Act, Anti-discrimination legislation and the organisation’s workforce strategy and requirements for a diverse workforce.
3. Develop an Internal/external job advertisement, indicating the channels through which it will be advertised and authorisation to advertise. (Authorisation to advertise can be included on your document developed in a.
4. Draft an email inviting candidates to attend an interview.
5. Develop and document a range of suitable open, closed and probing questions that will be used in an interview, agreed by relevant parties.
6. Develop a set of selection criteria.
