The present study is directed towards the evaluation of changes
in the mechanical and physical properties upon closed-loop recycling and reprocessing of thermoplastic WPC produced from PVC
and wood flour. The research consists of two parts. The first part
concentrates on re-processing of the mixture of WPC industrial
scrap and its freshfeed PVC pellets filled with wood flour; the purpose of which is to find the most appropriate mix ratio of the WPC
scrap:WPC freshfeed. In reality, there is an opportunity whereby
some of the re-processed WPC profiles may be rejected and become industrial WPC scrap again, so the second part of this study focuses on characterization of the re-processed WPC profiles after
re-extrusion repeatedly up to seven passes.
