Premier League giants circle for Martins
Gelson Martins was the best player on the pitch for 70 minutes last week at the Santiago Bernabeu, as Sporting Lisbon positioned themselves on the brink of a historic 1-0 victory over European champions Real Madrid.
Then manager Jorge Jesus inexplicably took the speedster off, and Los Merengues flipped the Champions League contest in their favour to win 2-1, but Martins won plenty of admirers that night -- so much so that Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham United watched the 21-year-old in Sporting's 3-1 defeat at Rio Ave on Monday, according to A Bola.
The Cape Verde-born winger has a £51.4 million release clause, though, which should prevent any moves as Martins continues to develop.
