Day 1 (Arrival Day & Welcome)
Your guide from Epic Ski Adventures will meet you at Spokane International Airport and transfer you to your accommodation at Ramada Lodge to meet the team. Enjoy a welcome drink in the bar with presentation of your T-shirt and a briefing on the trip.
Day 2 (Ski 49 Degree North Resort)
After breakfast you will be driven to 49 Degree North Ski Resort to stretch your powder legs and then on to your lodging at The Prestige Hotel in the town of Rossland. Gourmet pizza at Misty Mountain? Check. Pub food on a pedestal in Redstone Golf Resorts 86 year-old log clubhouse? Fore! Sit-down Italian at Gabriella’s? Si! Exotic ingredients and decadent desserts at Gypsy? Hey that’s mine! Food, fun and cold ones at the Flying Steamshovel, one of BC’s oldest pubs? Hell yes! Rosslands restaurants have something for everyone.
Day 3 (Ski Red Mountain)
After breakfast at the Red Mountain day lodge you will explore the abundance of in-bound skiing this mountain provides. At the end of the day enjoy a hot pool, sauna or massage at your upmarket lodging or enjoy a cold one with your new found friends.
Day 4 (Ski Red Mountain)
Groundhog Day! But with a difference. For those wanting to enjoy the experience of earning your turns, Red Mountain has a newly developed area that is deemed backcountry only, with the benefit of being controlled by patrollers. Learn new skills of being safe in the out of bounds area that will open a whole new world to your skiing and riding. For those with the skills, a walk out to the area known as Roberts will not disappoint. After a hot pool, sauna and dinner there is the option to learn the art of curling with the local Rossland Club.
Day 5 (Ski Red Mountain)
Your last day at Red Mountain provides even more variety. For a small fee you can be transported by an in-bound snow cat that opens up a whole new area of the mountain. For those who want to cruise, a day with one of the local RED snow hosts is an enjoyable experience to get an in depth knowledge of the mountain and surrounding area. Enjoy some live music or an impromptu party on the sun deck of RED. Being a Friday night you could party the night at Rafters which was voted as North America’s best ski bar in 2012. Or descend on Rossland to enjoy a wide range of quality restaurants.
Day 6 (Cat Skiing - Big Red Cats)
It is time to leave the lifts behind and start exploring the Kootenay Rockies in one of the fastest snowcats in the business, the PB300. Big Red Cats will open your eyes to true untracked powder and it is all yours for the taking. Finish the day with a cold one at Rafters bar re-living every turn. Have you noticed that skiing and boarding are one of the few sports that you can gain as much enjoyment doing it as re-living it?
Day 7 (Travel / Rest Day - Rossland - Nelson)
We say good bye to RED, Rossland and our hosts at the Prestige Hotel and travel to the township of Nelson and our lodging at the Hume Hotel. After five days of skiing we enjoy a rest day. Spend the afternoon moseying around this laid back town which boasts a diverse range of restaurants, bars and some great ski shops.
