As we look beyond 2015, the UN will be ready and committed. In 2013,
the UN Chief Executives Board (CEB) endorsed the UN Plan of Action
on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilience. The Plan develops three core
commitments, with actions and expected results, a shared approach to
measure impact and progress, and steps for its implementation. With
this Plan, the UN embraces the international momentum to refer to
“resilience” as a common outcome that integrates poverty reduction,
disaster risk reduction, sustainable livelihoods and climate change
adaptation, as integral to sustainable development.
