The sylvite ore is transported to the No. 1 shaft by way of a conveyor system that uses 107-cm (42•in) wide belts, two stackers, and two raises. Ore from the Jangbeinite areas is fed onto 107-cm (42-in) wide feeder belts to a 137-cm (S4-in) wide main conveyor. The main conveyor belt carries the ore to the No.
2 shaft 10.S km (6.5 miles) away.
The new 1.37-m (S4-in) belt system has single and dual 22S-kW (300•hp) FMC drives. These dnves utilize alignment-free gear boxes.
