Overview: This lesson will ask students to examine the similarities and differences between geographic features of their country and other
ASEAN countries. By looking at the geographic diversity of their country, students can then begin to connect these to other ASEAN countries
to understand the concept of “alike” and “different” in valuing diversity. Students will practice reading maps, identifying geographic features on
a map, and representing those features on a blank map. They will begin by noticing the features of their own country and identifying lifestyles
that relate to that particular geographic region through pictures. Then researching another country by examining their geographic features such
as mountains, coastal, forested, island, etc. Finally, they will fill out and label a blank map and a chart showing the differences and similarities of
these countries.
