The third speaker is Ms. Michelle Galwisky-Espique, MAT English. She has focused on demonstrating the use of psychology and other practical topics (i.e. Time Management) to engage the students in using the English language to discuss the given topic. The main idea is to look for a common interest for the students to be motivated to talk about something they already know about and talk in confidence thus allowing for the strong motivation to find means to express oneself. The speaker also talked about the importance of being the best teacher. The participants were challenged to be actors who do not only teach the students, but also mentor through demonstration of how language is used to express oneself using the right words, saying it the right way, saying it the right time. The participants were also shown a live demonstration of children giving a presentation about Filipino Culture. The three children were grades 7, 6, and four. All three were given the simple task of choosing a topic that they are comfortable with where they can showcase the Filipino culture. The short presentation accompanied by the use of PowerPoint slides, were to demonstrate the use of innovation, which is now the move in training learners in this Conceptual age. Because the teacher did not set very limiting instructions the students had the freedom to express their ideas and the presentations provided where unique and creative and still accomplished the main focus, which is to use language to share about the Filipino culture.
