Sinlek rice is a cross-bred of white (Jasmine 105) rice and Hom Nil (Black Fragrant) rice, developed by Kasetsart University Thailand. It is low in glycemic index and high in iron that is best for diabetics. It reduces insulin resistance, decreases the triglyceride level, and improves the functioning of pancreas. These results suggest that the consuming of this Sinlek rice by children with iron-deficiency conditions will increase their hemoglobin level.
