Compared to the Daodejing, the Zhuangzi text is more transcendental—it relates to the spiritual realm. The Daodejing is more firmly based in an earthly philosophy (of nature).
The Zhuangzi now consists of 33 chapters (but had originally been 52 chapters, until another philosopher deleted 19 chapters).
The existing chapters belong to three groups: Inner Chapters, Outer Chapters, and Miscellaneous Chapters.
The philosopher Zhuangzi himself appears in the chapters, even though he did not write all of this text.
