Matt and his class went on a trip to the planetarium yesterday. They learned about stars, planets and other things in space. Today, they are having science class. The teacher and the class are talking about the Solar System.
Teacher : The Solar System consists of the sun and eight planets. What are the planets?.
Matt : They are round objects in space. They go around the sun.
Teacher : That's right. They are very huge. Can you tell me the names of these planets?
Students : Yes, they are Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn, Uranus, Earth and Mars.
Teacher : That's very good. Can you tell me something about these planets?
Student 1 : mercury is the nearest planet to the sun.
Student 2 : Venus is covered with thick yellow clouds.
Student 3 : Neptune is the eighth in order from the sun.
Student 4 : Earth is a lovely blue bell with brown and green land.
Student 5 : Mars is covered with red rocks.
Student 6 : Uranus is the seventh farthest from the sun.
Student 7 : Jupiter is the largest planet of the Solar System.
Student 8 : Saturn is a large planet. It's rings are brown and white.
Teacher : That's perfect. Let's draw a diagram of the Solar System on a cardboard. Use color pencil, crayons or water colors to paint each planet.
