3.3. Chemical composition and heating value of cattail and reed
At the completion of the chemical composition study, a statistical analysis consisting of a multifactoranalysis
of variance (MANOVA) was performed on the entire data set to determine if significant differences exist among different treatments (hydraulic application rates, vegetative cycle and plant species). According to the results obtained, both in cattails and reeds, no significant relationship between chemical composition and hydraulic application rate was observed. For this reason, only mean values of the vegetative cycle and plant species are shown in Tables 8 and 9.
