once there was a boy whose family call him that little one jack. He wasn't little. He was simply the youngest of ten brothers. His family never let him do anything important. All he did was mind the cat. Then one day, That Little One Jack got his chance to show just how bright he was. "All your brothers are tending to the animals or laboring in the fields, "So you must row across the river and buy us some provisions. I need a large, plump goose and a pint of juicy cranberries."
The boy quickly departed, with ten shillings in his pocket and the cat at his heels. First, he rowed across the river to the bustling market. The cat came with him. After bargaining shrewdly with the merchants, he purchased a large, plump goose and a pint of juicy cranberries. Feeling very successful, he returned to the river to row home. it was then that his difficulties commenced. The problem was that his boat was small and frail. It could only transport himself and one other item at any one time. That meant leaving the other two things together, unattended.
