A quality of bouncing back and moving on in life
after adversity is present in resilience. The term
“rebounding” is found consistently in all aspects of
resilience literature and it insinuates a positive direction
or response. “Reintegration” is an expression
found in the contemporary literature, which describes
the process after disruption or adversity in which an
individual wants to return to a regular routine or “get
back to normal.” They are ready to reintegrate or
assimilate with the life they are familiar with; however,
there is a readiness to do this in a positive or
improved way (Flach, 1997)
