I have been collecting snow globes since I was a little girl. Having a collection like this is a fun hobby that has made me very happy.
I got my first snow globe when I was six years old. My father brought it back from a trip to England. There is a castle inside of the snow globe. The first time I shook it, I was amazed. Snow swirled all around the castle. I thought it was magic. I spent hours looking at the beautiful winter world inside of the glass. Soon, all of my family and friends had heard about how much I liked snow globes. I got snow globes as presents for every birthday and every holiday. Before I knew it, I had become a collector.
The biggest snow globe I own is the size of a basketball. It is from Canada. Inside, it has a moose standing in a forest. Since it is so big, it is difficult to pick up and shake, but when you do, it is beautiful. This snow globe also plays music. There is a key you can wind at the bottom. When you turn the key, the snow globe plays “O Canada,” which is Canada’s national song. I keep this snow globe on a special shelf in my main snow globe room.
The silliest snow globe I own is from Florida. It is filled with water, a top hat, a carrot, and a few small black pieces. At the bottom of the snow globe are the words “Florida Snowman.” When I saw this snow globe, I laughed and laughed. I knew that I had to have it because it was so amusing. I keep this snow globe in a large display case in my second snow globe room.
My favorite snow globe is probably the one my best friend Helen gave me for my 50th birthday. Inside the globe are two small girls in winter coats making snow angels. I love this snow globe because it reminds me of all of the wonderful times Helen and I spent playing in the snow when we were little girls. I keep this snow globe in my bedroom on a table right next to my bed. Every morning when I wake up, I look at the snow globe and smile.
When I got my first snow globe at age six, I had no idea that it would turn me into a collector. Now, I cannot imagine my life without them
