From Table 4, the highest and the lowest Pb content was 0.48 ± 0.11 (0.48 is average value and 0.11 is s.d.) and 0.38 ± 0.07 mg/kg in the tomatoes, respectively. The highest 210 Cd content was determined as 0.71 ± 0.15 mg/kg. The highest Cu content was 18.7 ± 3.2 mg/kg. The highest Fe and Zn contents were 2.41 ± 0.34 and 78.4 ± 6.8 mg/kg, respectively. The heavy metal levels in the plants are hardly affected by pH and organic matter content of the soil
