Evidence on the relation between the percentage of inside directors on the audit committee and the type of audit report (going-concern or clean) is mixed: parametric ttests are insignificant, but the Wilcoxon rank sum test is marginally significant (p < 0.10). However, both tests indicate that companies receiving going-concern reports have on average a smaller percentage of gray directors on the audit committee (p < 0.01)
