Had a great day visiting Ang Sila piermarket, Monkey hill, Bang Saen beach and the mangroves. Upon arrival to the beach, we parked the taxi (hired for the day) and walked along the beach. It was wonderful watching the local kids play and families hang out. We sat in one of the beach chairs and was told that if you want to sit in a chair right by the water it is 300 Baht to rent the area for the day. If you choose an inside tablechairs it is 150 Baht. We were only staying for lunch but got charged the same price. You can order food. The place we ate was okay. You may have to pay a few different vendors. Our rice came from one vendor and main dish from another. There are also vendors coming to you with snacks that you can purchase. We purchased some battered shrimp that looked awesome! Took one bite and quickly realized that the shrimp still had the shell in tact. DANG! It was still very relaxing and fun to watch the Thai style beach day!
There were also bikes that you could rent and ride along the walkway. Several shopping stalls were also available with local goods. Didn't see another tourist there! Kind of fun!
