Group 4 began with a fairly creative design, using thin PVC pipes and zip ties to create a tall box-like buoy, which scored 3.25 (Fig. 11). The buoy held only three golf balls before flipping over, leading to a design maximization score of 2.00. Their buoy design remained the same over their next two test tank sessions; however, they increased the number of golf balls held to 15 each time. Group 4 created an entirely new design for their fourth and final session, using two squares of thick PVC pipes on the bottom and a series of thin PVC pipes above to hold golf balls. This garnered a creativity score of 4.00 (Fig. 12). This design held 108 golf balls before flipping over; however, their design maximization score remained at 2.00.
