Seafood wastes used as sorbents were: CC—crab carapace from
Carcinus maenas and CS—clam shells from Scrobicularia plana. The
exoskeletons and the shells were washed with distilled water,
dried at 60 C, triturated using a coffee mill (model Taurus
aromatic), sieved (0.5 mm) and stored at room temperature in
plastic containers.
