Have you ever stopped to think about how different the summer and winter seasons really are? Consider the wardrobe change your closet and dresser go through as the seasons slowly transform. As the skimpy summer clothes disappear, the heavy winter clothes creep their way back in, a sure sign that winter is coming. Break out those long pants and sweatshirts and pack up those shorts, T-shirts, and flip-flops because Jack Frost will be nipping at your toes. While my seasonal transition may seem different from yours, you might be surprised at how similar they really are. For me, the change from summer to winter season is a gradual one. There are, however, three main fashion-related areas that let me know when the seasons are changing: my dresser, walking the mall, and television commercials. One of the first things I notice when the season's are changing is the makeup of my wardrobe. When the weather starts to get colder, and the air becomes crisp, I start to notice a few new items entering my closet and drawers. Slowly, the short-sleeved T-shirts and tank tops are replaced by long-sleeve T-shirts, then the shorts and skirts are kicked out by the long pants and jeans, and finally the big bulky sweatshirts and sweaters claim their territory. While walking the mall and looking at the clothes on display, I can usually tell that winter is on the way. The racks filled with skimpy, flesh-showing cloths slowly turn into thick bulky fabric. The thin clothes that once hung nicely next to each other are now being crammed side by side to share room for the massive clothes. Although, sometimes the mall can play tricks on a customer. Interestingly, the mall stores sell summer clothes in the winter, and winter clothes in the summer. Why? Because they are trying to get the people ready for the upcoming season.
