In an attempt to address these issues, we treated lisianthus
‘Tiramisu Double Cream’ with 7 types of day-length photoperiods,
which ranged from 10 h to 24 h, to analyze the effects of different photoperiods on the growth and flowering of lisianthus and
to determine the critical and optimal photoperiod that promotes
flowering. In addition, we observed the process of floral bud differentiation in lisianthus under the optimal photoperiod, established
relation between differentiation phases and vegetative growth
characteristics, and predicted the floral transition by leaf number.
These results could provide a reference for producers to create a
reasonable strategy for the cultivation of lisianthus
