Abstract
The load-displacement diagrams of sisal fiber reinforced concrete (0.38%,
0.76% and 1.14% v/v of 30 mm long sisal fibers), were determined by
notched cubic specimens and wedge splitting procedures. From the loaddisplacement
diagrams, the fracture mechanics properties and softening
diagrams were derived. Softening diagrams derived using the polylinear
approximation analysis method for sisal fiber reinforced concrete are
presented and compared to those of an unreinforced control concrete. The
observed differences in fracture behavior between sisal and steel fiber
reinforced concretes are also. analyzed and discussed.
