3. Results
3.1. Plasma and hepatic vitamin E level responses to dietary vitamin E
As shown inFig. 1, both plasma and hepatic vitamin E concentrations
were affected by dietary vitamin E intake. Sheep fed with a high vitamin
E diet (E2000) had significantly higher plasma and hepatic vitamin E
concentrations than all the other groups (Pb0.05) and hepatic vitamin
E level was also significantly higher in E200 compared to the control
group (E0) (Pb0.05) (Fig. 1). In addition, the hepatic vitamin E concentrations in the high vitamin E group (E2000) increased at a larger magnitude (~ 4.5 fold) than the plasma vitamin E level (~ 1.5 fold) when
compared to the control.
