Four major themes identified from participants' stories enabled a richer understanding of caregiving for people living with dementia and help-seeking patterns among prospective Korean caregivers. Each of these themes is related to the role of the caregiver. The first theme is related to the participants' expectations of their role as a caregiver, and the other three themes are related to expected barriers and potential assistance with this role.First, consistent with previous research on Korean dementia caregivers this study found that both groups emphasized the importance of family care despite living in a different cultural environment.
