By the same token, Lufthansa Cargo works tirelessly to significantly lower noise
emissions associated with flying by focusing on state-of-the-art technology in
new aircraft and their engines, while at the same time optimising its existing
fleet and using low-emission flying techniques. An example of this is our investment in the Boeing 777F. Thanks to the latest generation of engines as well as
aerodynamically enhanced wings, the freighter produces an average of 17 per
cent less specific CO2
emissions than an MD-11F. With the delivery of five 777F
for deployment in the company’s own flight operations between 2013 and 2015,
Lufthansa Cargo will be able to make further significant reductions to the fleet’s
specific CO2
emissions.
