Wat (temple) Ban Tad is a wat pa (forest temple) with a vast area of 163 rai. The temple is a monastery for monks living secluded from the materialistic world. The boundaries of the monastery are marked by a wall which serves as a defense
against wild animals living in abundance in the forest. Within the walls Of the temple, pheasants, wild chickens, birds, squirrels, hogs, and other animals live harmoniously with the monks.
The temple is important to the local people, and is one of the most famous temples in Thailand as It is the monastery of two widely known Buddhist priests, Venerable Archarn Maha Bua Yanasampanno and Ajarn Mun Phurithatto, The wat is ideal for those wishing to practice meditation.
Ban Tad Temple is located in Ban Tad village. From downtown Udonthani, drive along the Highway 2 Udonthani-Khon Kaen road for 7km and take a right turn to Ban Tad village, then another 9km to get to the temple The temple will be past Ban Tad village.
