Conclusion
The analysis of the textbooks was from the direct users who had full knowledge of the
demand of the curriculum and that of the contents of the textbooks. It was most appropriate for
these users to make the content analysis of the textbooks as a result of their experience. It was
found (in a summary form for table 3) that the textbooks possessed the expected features (i.e.
availability) to the tune of 74.2%. These features are also 62.9% relevant, 66.3% suitable and
64.4% adequate in conformity with the SSS National Mathematics Curriculum of Nigeria and in
their ability to bring about a desirable learning outcome. Further investigations also showed that
the textbook could not impact positively on the learners’ attitude.
