Background
although knowledge management is typically defined as the holistic combination of measures for managing people, processes, and technology, the explicit integration of human resource management into knowledge management initiatives is seldom examined.
Therefore, this study aims to analyse current knowledge management strategies, tacit and explicit transfer processes, implementation strategies and the contribution of knowledge management to organisational effectiveness and efficiency. Furthermore, the study investigates the relationships amongst these dimensions of knowledge management. The study aims to provide recommendations with strategic direction for the improvement of knowledge management initiatives within the Skills Development and Management Services and Organisational Development Units.
