PERSONAL LOSSES
Personal property loss reimbursement is not to be included on an expense report.
Reimbursement for loss of personal property by an ACE employee while away on business will be subject to compliance with any applicable Corporate Policy, in accordance with terms and conditions of any applicable insurance or self-insurance maintained by the Company and providing:
• The employee took reasonable and normal precautions to protect and safeguard the property.
• The loss was a result of some act of misappropriation or damage over which the employee had no control, as is a robbery or theft from a hotel room, etc.
• The loss was immediately reported to the police or other appropriate authorities.
• The value of the lost, stolen or damaged items can be reasonably substantiated.
• The employee has first applied the loss to their personal homeowner's/renter's insurance policy, where applicable.
