The article presents an answer to the question related to an interaction between cranberry juice and warfarin. Cranberry juice is a drink rich in antioxidants that has sometimes been used for the prevention of cystitis. However, since 1999 the Committee on Safety of Medicines has received several reports suggesting a possible interaction between patients taking warfarin and cranberry juice, featuring changes to international normalized ratio values. In the most serious report, a patient died from a gastrointestinal hemorrhage six weeks after starting to drink cranberry juice.
