Purpose : To establish procedures to ensure proper use, maintenance of sanitation and security of associate locker facilities.
Procedure :
1. Management of staff locker rooms is responsibility of the Human Resources Department.
2. Only employees who are required to wear a hotel uniform shall be provided with a locker.
3. Employees shall contact the Human Resources Department to complete the request form for locker assignment.
4. Employees are required to observe the rules and regulations of locker assignment strictly. According disciplinary action shall be taken against any employee who does not respect them.
5. The Human Resources Department, in co-ordination with the Security Department, shall perform a monthly spot check of the lockers. The Human Resources staff member who is in charge of the spot check shall inform the Security Manager prior to controlling the lockers.
6. Unannounced locker inspections shall be conducted on a routine basis.
7. Policy of the locker inspection policy should be permanently displayed in or near the locker area (both in male and female locker rooms), outlining prohibited or valuable items not to be kept in an associate’s locker.
8. The inspection team is to consist of the of Human Resources Manager, Security Manager, Department Head and a non-management associate.
9. The inspection results shall be raised in Executive Committee meetings and corrective action instituted when necessary.
10. These inspections should be documented along with notation of corrective action. A copy should be sent to the General Manager and a copy retained by the Human Resources Director/Manager.
11. Lockers will be opened using the master key. (only company/hotel issued locks are to be used on lockers). All inspectors will be present each time a locker is opened. Each locker will be closed and it’s security checked.
12. Only the hotel-issued-key and lock will be used. If the key is lost, the employee will have to pay for the new lock and the key.
13. The employees will open the lockers if requested by the hotel for inspection or examination. If any locker found not open, the hotel has the right to open and remove all belongings from the locker.
14. Report defect immediately and both lockers room and lockers are to be kept clean and tidy.
15. Smoking is not allowed in lockers room.
16. The company reserves the right to inspect the lockers room and lockers any time without advance notice.

The following is the minimum inspection :
1. A check on the sanitation of the locker room, lockers and restroom.
2. A check of the adequacy of the ventilation or air conditioning.
3. A check on the presence of any safety hazards.
4. A check on the security of the locker room itself and the individual lockers.
5. A check on the presence of prohibited items in the individual lockers.
