In contrast to the number of yeast and mold enumerated from
E. coliO157:H7 inoculated strawberries, aqueous NaOCl and EO
water reduced contaminating fungi inL.monocytogenesinoculated
berries following the 5-min washing, but levels of reduction were nosignificantly different among the tested solutions (P>0.05). Yeast
and mold on theE. coliO157:H7 inoculated samples were the only
microorganisms that were not inactivated by the test solutions after
5-min treatment.
